Marybeth Peña, R.N., B.S.N., C.D.E.
Since 1998 Marybeth has been involved with diabetes research, prevention and management programs. Marybeth's experience includes 5 years as the Clinical Care Coordinator/Certified Diabetes Educator at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Florida where she provided intensive education, facilitated support groups and organized community outreach in an ADA approved diabetes education center.
Marybeth is cited in the New England Journal of Medicine, February 7, 2002 for her work on the National Institute of Health’s Diabetes Prevention Research Group, a multi-site comprehensive clinical trial. Marybeth is also active with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) whose aim is to promote funding, research and education for juveniles with diabetes.
Marybeth holds a BS in Nursing from Catholic University. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and has a professional teaching certificate in elementary education.
